MRB Special Funding Program
KHC has $5 million in special funding available at 2.00 percent fixed interest rate for 30 years. The Mortgage Revenue Bond (MRB) Special Funding Program is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with new reservations only.

Who can qualify for this deal?
  • Households that do not exceed $35,000 gross annual income, and meet ONE of the following:
    • At least one home buyer is 62 years old or older.
    • At least one member is disabled and is receiving disability income.
    • A single- or two-parent household with at least one dependent child under the age of 18 living in the home.
Special Funding qualifications included:
  • Must be a first-time home buyer, unless property in a targeted county.
  • Regular and Affordable Down payment Assistance Program available.
  • Existing and new construction (purchase price limit of $115,000).
  • 640 minimum credit score.
  • FHA, VA, and RHS first mortgage options.

2016 Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference
Registration for the 2016 Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference is now available! This year's conference will be Tuesday and Wednesday, October 18-19, 2016, at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center.

Below is a list of the workshop sessions for Single-Family Programs and Housing Counseling:

Tuesday, October 18
  • The New American Homebuyer
    Panel discussion highlighting initiatives to overcome barriers that exist for immigrant populations along their pathway to homeownership. Lenders, housing counselors, real estate agents, universities, and cities all play an important role and can benefit from this information exchange. Officials from the FDIC and Small Business Administration will be joined by an industry expert to share strategies to help you better reach and serve multicultural home buyers.
     
  • Map your way to more home buyers!
    Learn digital marketing strategies from Kristin Messerli, founder and managing director of Cultural Outreach Solutions. Kristin's goal is to increase production and improve the customer service experience in the mortgage industry by giving you a map! This M.A.P. is a Marketing Access Plan to reach out to Hispanic and millennial consumers that, combined, make up the single largest segment of the first-time home buyer market.
     
  • Uncle Sam Wants You.....To Help More Veterans!
    Kentucky has a long and proud history of strong military service, yet VA mortgage loans remain a very small percent of overall production. Housing counselors and lenders can help more veterans achieve affordable homeownership through VA loans. A senior official from Veterans Affairs will discuss VA's latest initiatives and answer your questions.

  • The Unforeseen Costs of Higher Education:  How Student Loans Impact Future Homeownership
    Students think an investment in a top-notch college education equals a fabulous job plus an MTV-worthy "crib." Dreams can crash quickly as they learn the impact those student loans have on the reality of homeownership. Student Loan Expert, Heather Jarvis, experienced this first-hand. Hear Heather's insights and solutions for lenders, real estate agents, and counselors who work with these "next generation" clients.
     
  • Investing in the future of Rural Kentucky
    National Speaker Tony Hernandez, RHS Administrator for the USDA / Rural Development Program, discusses the latest news, statistics, and outlook for the Single Family Housing 502 Guaranteed and Direct loan programs in Kentucky. Hear how they partner with lenders, counselors, and real estate agents to make a difference in rural communities.
