Shannon Westin, MD, MPH, FACOG, will lead the hour and a half hour presentation focused on the known molecular abnormalities that have allowed the field of precision medicine to blossom in ovarian cancer. Precision medicine is an approach for disease treatment and prevention that considers individual variability in genes, environment and lifestyle for each person.

Novel targeted therapies in ovarian cancer including PARP inhibitors and anti angiogenics will also be featured in the presentation.


Dr. Westin is a gynecologic oncologist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine, Division of Surgery.
