3 BUDDY WALKS MAKING
A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE

This year's theme, "The World Is Ours," represents the full range of opportunities available for our loved with Down syndrome to have a meaningful, fulfilling life.

You have the power to help the MDSC promote more opportunities than ever for all people with Down syndrome and their families. Come celebrate with us, walk, and show solidarity in our belief in the future.

We will carry this theme of empowerment through our three Buddy Walks around the state.

"The World Is Ours" means that people with Down syndrome are taking ownership over all aspects of their lives - education, health care, employment, public policy, housing, and recreation.

The World Is Ours has special meaning this year as three major pieces of legislation helping our community passed recently -  the National Background Check Bill, Real Lives Bill, and ABLE Act. MDSC has been championing these bills for years, and their passage will make a difference in many aspects of our loved ones' lives.

By participating in one of Buddy Walks this year, you will help support the kind of work that allows us to say in 2015 that the "World Is Truly Ours!"

On July 26, join us to celebrate our community Cape Cod style!

Now entering its 3rd year, the Buddy Walk & Harvest Fair is a fun, fall-themed event that leads up to National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

It brings over 500 people together from the Central Mass. to celebrate the Down syndrome community.  In addition to the 1-mile walk in a classic New England Farm setting, the event features a raffle with tons of great prizes, a live performance by the band UP, field games by the fan-favorite Knucklebones, and a variety of games and arts & crafts.

So come on out to River Bend Farm in Uxbridge on September 20 for a great family event!

New England's largest Down syndrome awareness event

Now in its 19th year, our Buddy Walk & Family Festival remains the biggest awareness event  for Down syndrome in New England!

On October 11, thousands of walkers will once again gather around Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, where each step around the beautiful 3-mile route will give hope to new families, and provide critical support and resources for educators, policymakers and medical professionals and employers.

The walks features national music acts, celebrity special guests and festival offerings.

October is National Down Syndrome Awareness, so there's no better time to promote acceptance and inclusion for the Down syndrome community.

All individuals who reach the $500 milestone will become a Buddy Walk All-Star! All-Stars will receive special signage on the walk route and an invitation to the exclusive All-Star Luncheon in Spring 2016.

(Deadlines will be emailed in communications about the walk)

Everyone at the MDSC is looking forward to seeing you at one of our 2015 Buddy Walks!
