Kane County Institute Day 2018
Registration for Kane County Institute Day 2018 is currently open! This year's Institute Day will be similar to last year's with a conference style format at several locations. We took your feedback into consideration when planning for this year’s Institute Day and are now equipped for educators to sign up for individual breakout sessions! Registration for the location you would like to attend goes thru January 26th. On January 29th, you will receive an email with a link to register for individual breakout sessions at the location you selected.

Join the Progress Report Book Club
Want to be part of a unique professional learning opportunity to receive PD hours? Join The Progress Report's online book study of "The Unlearning Leader" by local Superintendents Michael Lubelfeld and Nick Polyak!

The online book club will be a four week study starting on February 18th and ending March 18th. Each week, participants will participate in an online assignment through Illinois Online Academy. Participants will receive 8 PD hours from participating in the book club. The cost to join the book club and receive the PD hours is $20 and you must register before February 12, 2018.

Who Will You Nominate For Educator of the Year?
Mark your calendars for Educator of the Year 2018, held on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the Q Center in St. Charles! The Educator of the Year Awards celebrate the teachers, administrators, and support staff that work everyday to provide a fantastic education for students throughout Kane County.

Nominations are now being accepted by the ROE through February 26th, 2018. The nomination packet can be found here . All nominees should be skillful, dedicated, and continue to play an active role in education. This year, the ROE has put together a video that explains how to nominate someone for EOTY. If you have any additional questions about Educator of the Year, please contact the ROE .

Did You Know Series: Truancy Prevention
Did you know that the ROE collaborates with schools each year to advocate for students and parents to ensure consistent school attendance? The ROE's Youth Outreach staff work to prevent truancy and in the 16-17 school year had 2,110 referrals from local schools requesting truancy assistance from Youth Outreach.

With the temperature dropping and the days getting shorter, wouldn't it be nice to take your next professional learning course in the comfort of your own home?
