Pathways to Equity header
Welcome colleagues,

June is here and the school year is coming to an end. Summer is a valuable time for educators to reflect on their own learning and join with their colleagues to build expertise, share knowledge, and grow their professional networks. Here at CCE, we have an exciting summer ahead with several professional learning opportunities including the launch of our Performance Assessment for Learning Micro-Credential project in Rhode Island, our 6th Annual Quality Performance Assessment Summer Institute held in Boston, and the continuation of our Massachusetts Personalized Learning Network Design Institute for participating districts and schools. I wish you all a happy end of the school year and a rejuvenating and productive summer.

Best,

Dan French

Blended Learning Spotlight
MA PLN Reimagines Professional Development for Teachers
All too often, professional development opportunities for teachers follow the traditional "sit-and-get" model-an approach to learning that we all know needs to change. CCE's Massachusetts Personalized Learning Network (MA PLN) is committed to making this transformation and offering engaging, authentic learning experiences for educators in the network. MA PLN's professional development program, known as the Design Institute, is intentionally designed to model best practices in personalized learning-offering a blended learning experience that includes school-based coaching, online learning (using the Agilix Buzz platform), in-person training sessions, and school site visits. In-person meetings are built around learning done outside of the "classroom," allowing members to work at their own pace with opportunities to exercise voice and choice. MA PLN's Design Institute seeks to provide educators with a new way of thinking about teaching and learning, for themselves and their students.

Work at CCE
Join the QPA Team
CCE's Quality Performance Assessment (QPA) program is growing, with emerging opportunities to support statewide, student-centered learning systems with partners including the Oregon Department of Education. To support our work, QPA is hiring two positions: Program Associate, a full-time position based in CCE's Boston office, and Senior Associate, a full-time position with a flexible location based in MA, NH, or VT. The QPA Program Associate and Senior Associate will bring passion, ideas, and strong organizational skills to a team working with educators, school, district, and state leaders, and other stakeholders to put evidence-based approaches to student-centered instruction and assessment into practice. To learn more, please visit www.cce.org/about/work-at-cce

"Doing things the way we've always done them is a dangerous pattern. If we want to promote real change, we need to rethink how we educate not only our students but our teachers as well."

-Stacy Young, Director, Personalized Learning Network
