Reinhardt University alumni continue to excel in their careers, and a 2006 Price School of Education graduate has been honored by the state for her work as an educator.  Rachel Wasserman '06 was surprised May 23 with the announcement that she was named a Georgia 2016 National Distinguished Assistant Principal.

"Reinhardt is where it all started for me on my path to becoming an educator. I cannot tell you how proud I am to say that I am a Reinhardt grad," Wasserman said. RU to offer musical theatre camp for high school students in July

Reinhardt University's School of Performing Arts faculty will host a musical theatre summer camp for rising high school freshmen through recent high school graduates in July.

In its first year, the camp is geared at providing collegiate level training to those interested in the performing arts. The camp, led by music instructor Brian Osborne, will include training in vocals and acting, with a final cabaret performance at the Falany Performing Arts Center. ... Read More

A Reinhardt alumnus will be sworn in as the top law enforcement officer for Cherokee County next year. Frank Reynolds secured the spot with almost 70 percent of the vote over three other candidates for Cherokee County Sheriff in the May 24 Republican Primary.

Reynolds is a captain for the Pickens County Sheriff's Office and earned several endorsements during the campaign including four Cherokee County municipal mayors whose cities have police departments and current Sheriff Roger Garrison, who has led the Cherokee Sheriff's Office for 24 years. ... Golf Outing raises $23,000 for student scholarships

Reinhardt University has always valued education in the traditions of the United Methodist Church (UMC). Its recent golf outing, held at Bent Tree Golf Club in Jasper, which raised more than $23,000 for students from UMC churches is one more indication of an ever-deepening partnership between the UMC and Reinhardt.

Reinhardt Theatre

Reinhardt students, Rhonda Kelley and Tyler Bucher, starred in Raising Cain produced at Georgia Military College. 

The play was directed by Reinhardt Theatre professor, David Nesbit. It also featured Reinhardt Theatre professor, Stewart Hawley, and the author of the play, Dr. Wayne Glowka, dean of the School of Arts and Humanities.



Police Academy at Reinhardt University

(Class 16-001) recently participated in weapons training using a baton.

Students first learn how to work with a baton before they move on to OC spray, also known as pepper spray.
