Rejoice
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever."    - Psalm 136:1
,

Celebrate with us!  We are overwhelmed by God's goodness as He has provided for so many of his dearly beloved children (including adults) all throughout the world.  There is no denying that pain, suffering, and disease still exist.  But, it is such a joy to see how some of the brokenness and sadness is coming undone through our Redeemer and His servants.
thank you We celebrated together the 205,956 individual lives touched and transformed by the Sustainable Med team and international partners in 2016.   And these were deep and meaningful touches made possible through discipleship and training of community members who invested into each of these lives.   They did not just give medicine and leave.   And you responded in faith to invest more into these lives.

You were are part of giving
$276,053 in 2016

This was more than $26K beyond our goal for 2016.  But, this money does not stay with us.  It is going right back out into the field.  This allowed us to begin a new chapter in India as well as expand our seed grant funds to even more partners.   Find our more by reading below.
Launching India
Biswa
Biswa (India Director)
It is our great honor to welcome Biswa as our new India Director.  We conducted our first conferences in India in 2016, but it became clear that we needed a local leader to guide and resource our partners in India and some of the surrounding nations.  We were not sure how this would happen, but your generous giving allowed us to launch this effort as a part time position.  But, this was not God's plan.   Instead, God provided a very generous donor who funded a full launch into India for the next 3 years.
We are confident Biswa is perfectly appointed for this task.  Biswa has served as a lead pastor for 15 years and trainer of other church leaders in northeastern India for over 7 years.  He also served in the medical field in pharmaceuticals before he began his time as a pastor.  Biswa is an excellent communicator, motivator, teacher, and servant of God.  While most would be impressed with his humble intelligence or thoughtful processing and planning, one of his most incredible attributes is his selfless desire to serve others.  One of the more powerful examples is how he and his family divided up their meager income and entered into poverty in order to support about 30 at-risk girls through a shelter they started that provides food, clothing, school fees, and a loving home for "their children".

Biswa is joined by his amazing wife, Shan, as well as their three children (ages 14, 12 and 8)
19 Sites Impacting Lives
2017 grant sites

The world is buzzing now as our partners take off on their locally designed and tailored programs using the Sustainable Med principles and guidelines.  The images above are some of the initial pictures of our partners at work in the first two weeks or less of their projects funded through our program seed grants.  Community workers are being trained, families are gaining access to clean water, and children are being freed from the parasites that would otherwise isolate them from their peers and hold them in the bondage of poverty.

Emmanuel, our African Director, and Biswa, our India Director, will be providing support for all of these sites along with the newly formed network of Centers of Excellence.  However, the sites will also be tracking their outcomes with simple yet powerful tracking forms

Soccer (football) Tournament in Kidaho, Rwanda

4,500 people attended the final of the tournament in Kidaho that was won by Muhabura FC

Solar Power for Centers of Excellence
The 6 Centers of Excellence will serve as great resources to their communities and countries.  They are being outfitted with the necessary tools to ensure they can communicate quickly and consistently.  One major issue is consistent power, but we are privileged to have
Dave Bennett and John Kloster help design these systems in conjunction with Emmanuel and his team in Rwanda.

"Good Health" music video goes national
The incredible music video for the song "Ubizima Bwiza"or "Good Health" (created by our partners in Rwanda) is now being shown on TV stations throughout Rwanda and some of the neighboring countries.   The song is also being broadcast by several of the local radio stations.
2017 Conferences
Ukraine conference
Ukraine
(April 29 - May 6)
Zambia
Zambia & Ghana
(July 4-16)
Nepal
India & Nepal
(September 14-24)
We have limited space for our supporters to join us for these conferences, and we'd love for you to come! While we keep our teams small in order to be as invisible as possible to the local people, we recognize the importance of establishing deeper connections between the worldwide Body of Christ.  Please note that everyone who comes does work and actively participates.  We will be training and empowering the local leaders, so this is not the typical mission trip. The local leaders are in turn equipped to provide direct services. If you are interested, please contact  David Snyder (dsnyder@sustainablemed.org)
