Behold I am making all things new...
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away, the new has come...
God's been reminding me lately about newness.
He's said He's doing a new thing. He's said we are new creations. He's said all things are new.
But in that newness, that journey of newness, is a process.
A process to believe it. A process to receive it. A process to walk it out.
You see, growth is not a one-time deal! It's a process.
A process to be enjoyed! A process to be delighted in! A process to be celebrated!
Just as we celebrate children's first steps - our Father celebrates ours! Just as we celebrate children's first words - our Father celebrates ours!
Just as we celebrate all the beautiful processes of growth in our own lives and spheres of influence - birthdays and anniversaries, graduations and changing of seasons, learning to ride bikes and drives cars, learning to love and dance and sing and forgive - God celebrates us!
He celebrates us!
God in Heaven, God of the universe, God in us - celebrates us!
He celebrates us!
He's not shaking His head or frowning or grimacing.
He's singing and dancing and laughing and shouting! He's rallied all of Heaven as He cheers us on!
He's inside us and beside us, rejoicing in our every moment. Delighting in who we are and how we're learning to be who He's created us to be!
He delights in every step! Even the wobbly ones! Even the ones where we fall down!
Why? Because He loves us! And we're going for it! We're doing it! We're learning to walk out the life He's placed inside us!
Yes, God, our God, our Daddy, our Papa, our King is for us!
There's never a day He's annoyed. There's never a day He's fed up.
He only delights. Only rejoices. Only loves!
And in that, we are free to enjoy the process. The process of growth. The process of freedom.
To delight in our own every step. Not needing to be perfect. Not needing to get it "just right".
But delighting in ourselves - and in others - just as God does.
The One who was sitting on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new!” Then He said, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.”
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:16-18
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
