Trammell Receives Endorsement From Labor

We believe Jack will offer common sense solutions for working families

Richmond, Virginia - September 08, 2014 - Congressional candidate Jack Trammell has received the endorsement of the Virginia AFL-CIO.

Doris Crouse-Mays, president, said the delegates of the organization voted to support Trammell at their annual convention because her organization made the determination Trammell was best suited to advance the conversation about working families.

"Recovering from the recession has been uneven, especially for working families and the middle class. Women still make far less than male counterparts for similar work and our senior citizens are fearful their pensions might be in jeopardy. Our organization is proud to support Jack Trammell who we believe will offer common sense solutions for working families," said Crouse-Mays.

"Virginia is strong because our people are strong. They define our state-by their hard work, commitment to their families and neighbors, their willingness to sacrifice so that their children can have a chance to forge their own path," Trammell said.

Trammell said leaders must work together to strengthen our economy and drive job growth in our community.

"When elected, I will work across the aisle to craft policies that invest in U.S. manufacturing, strengthen our infrastructure, and promote the growth of small businesses and start-up companies. We must ensure workers receive a fair wage - particularly women who are the backbone of our families. This is how we drive job growth and a stronger economy that will benefit not only the 7th District, but all of Virginia."

Trammell, a professor and farmer, is making his first bid for public office to fill the open congressional seat in Virginia's 7th district. The seat was formerly held by Eric Cantor.
