Relieve Your Work-Related Stress with Acupuncture

Work-related pain and stress is one of the most common reasons why our patients seek acupuncture.  Acupuncture is a natural, holistic therapy that treats the root cause of pain and illness instead of just masking the symptoms.  So before you reach for over-the-counter pain medicine, consider how acupuncture can relieve carpel tunnel syndrome, headaches, back aches and other work-related stresses.
Free Your Hands from Pain

acupoints on the handsCarpal Tunnel Syndrome is one of the most common job injuries.  It is caused by the disruption of Qi and blood caused by excess Cold, Dampness or Wind penetrating the muscles & tendons the wrist.  Acupuncture treats carpal tunnel syndrome by moving Qi and blood so the wrist can heal.  This therapy also reduces inflammation and swelling.  Some individuals report significant relief from their symptoms in as few as 1 to 2 treatments.

Relieve Stress, Naturally

Acupuncture provides natural relief from stress and tension.  It works by using your body's inherent ability to heal itself in order to relieve headaches, heal aches and pains, reduce anxiety, decrease blood pressure, and promote relaxation.  Instead of turning to caffeine, food or alcohol, try acupuncture to relieve stress in a natural & healthy way.

Reduce Lower Back Pain

Acupuncture is effective for increasing blood circulation throughout the body, and especially in the lower back.  This enhanced blood flow nourishes the muscles and tissues in the lower back, which have been stagnant and inflamed from prolonged sitting, stress, and overuse.  In fact, the efficacy of acupuncture in treasting back pain have been confirmed by both the World Health Organization as well as the National Institutes of Health.

Treat & Prevent Migraine Headaches

Acupuncture restores free flow of Qi in order to relieve migraine headaches.  This therapy encourages the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain killer. It also stabilizes levels of seratonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. We usually advise our patients to begin treatment with several frequent sessions in order to treat acute symptoms and return the body to a state of balance. Once Qi is balanced, sessions may be gradually reduced to once or twice per month to maintain results and prevent future headaches from occuring.  The majority of our patients are also able to reduce dependency on OTC pain relievers and prescription medications with continued treatment.

"Exhale the old Qi, and inhale the new Qi."

The ancient Chinese recognized the importance of breathing.  Breathing allows us to absorb the energy of the universe.  This promotes the free flow of Qi within our bodies.  Take a moment out of your work day to breathe; inhale deeply allowing your stomach to expand naturally and easily.  Breathe in new Qi through your nose, and breathe out old Qi through your mouth.  Practice this exercise several times each day.
