Greetings!

Arise
Tuesday, June 19, 7 p.m.

We want to remind you about tomorrow's film, Arise. It was directed by our own local mother and daughter team of Lori Joyce and Candice Orlando. Their mission is to produce documentary films which will give voice to those who traditionally have had no audience, including women.

Arise seeks to spread a message of hope for a sustainable future and a more just society. In this film we travel around the world talking with women and men who share an intellectual and spiritual understanding of what it takes to live in harmony with the environment. Our stops along the way include Equador, India and Israel. We see the Green Belt Movement in Kenya and Honor the Earth at the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota. We also spend time in Colorado meeting women in Paonia, Boulder and Denver who realize the importance of a locally grown food supply.

Narrated by actress and environmental activist Daryl Hannah, it was this year's winner of the Spirit of Activism Award at the Colorado Environmental Film Festival. Please join us for this empowering film that inspires us to work for the earth.

The film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and a reception in the Henderson Lounge.

See you at the movies!
