In this 45-minute webinar, Dr. Anita Mahajan, Medical Director of MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center, will provide an overview of radiation therapy, how it's used to treat childhood cancer, and its limitations and possible side effects. She will offer in-depth information about proton therapy, including the physics and science behind this emerging treatment, as well as how it can benefit children with cancer. She will also discuss the types of childhood cancers treated with proton therapy; pencil-beam scanning proton therapy and how it is applied to pediatric cancer; MD Anderson's extensive experience; and the future of proton therapy.
