Ballard Performing Arts presents
RENT in Concert

Two Shows Only!
Thursday, December 1st
Saturday, December 3rd
at 7:30 PM
Earl Kelly Performing Arts Center

Let's pack the house in support of the non-profit Lifelong and Ballard Theatre LED lighting and, of course, our wonderful actors!

On World AIDS Day, December 1st, and again on December 3rd, the Ballard High Thespian Troupe collaborates with stand-out alumni and local theatre luminaries for a performance of the score from the rock musical Rent . In what promises to be an outstanding musical evening, local actor/singers Melissa Backstrom, EJ Ekello, Savana Masako Smith, and Marshall Link join alumni Aisha Carpenter and Gustavo Gutierrez, director Shawn Riley and Senior Diego Roberts Buceta in singing the key roles. The entire thespian troupe forms the ensemble.  What is a concert performance? Lights, costumes, some surprises, and actors singing all the roles you know from Rent. Mr. Riley sings the role of Mark!

Rent is winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It will be an exuberant, passionate and joyous evening celebrating the theatre community, a ground-breaking musical that is now 20 years old, and a local non-profit that is making a real difference in our community, Lifelong. Proceeds will benefit Lifelong, and the LED theatre lighting conversion at Ballard High School.

Tickets are $25 ($20 for students/seniors) at showtix4u or at the door.

Families, the school version of Rent is rated PG-13
