AUGUST 2015 NEWS

"Staying still is contracting when you are motivated by fear - and fear can be tricky in masking itself as logic." If some part of you wants to expand, you are ready to expand."

AUGUST SPOTLIGHT: GETTING UN-STUCK

It seems like the end of summer, but we still have one more month to go...are you feeling stuck in the in-between? To find the next step, get still, get in the flow and let go.

According to positive psychology, flow, also known as being in 'the zone,' is a state of being in which a person is immersed in a feeling of energized focus, complete involvement, and enjoyment while in the process of an activity. In essence, flow can be characterized as complete absorption in what one does. Yoga practice gives us this opportunity on a daily basis--through breath awareness and the moving meditation that is the essence of vinyasa. The practice takes us from obvious to subtle, from outer movement to inner stillness; allowing what has been held under to move up to the surface, be examined, acknowledged, and finally released so we can move forward.

Join us this month--we have many beautiful offerings to help you move forward with creativity and grace.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat...

YOGA & GONG BATH
WITH
NICOLE NICHOLS AND ALISHA NISSENFELD
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 6:15-7:45PM

Join Nicole Nichols for a class featuring chanting, meditation, vinyasa flow, and culminating in a 20-minute extended savasana with a gong bath played live by Alisha Nissenfeld.

Of all the instruments used in sound healing, the Gong is perhaps the most powerful, and the most mysterious. Gong Meditations, also called Gong Baths, are deeply nourishing and restorative. Through the intense vibrations of the sound, the body and mind are able to relax and surrender to the healing energies of the Gong. The Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body, allowing students to experience deep healing on all levels of being as vibrations pass over and through them--leaving them feeling balanced, peaceful, and light.

During this healing and rejuvenating experience, students will relax comfortably with bolsters and blankets. No water is used in a gong bath; just enjoy the experience of vibrations washing over you!

Regular class pricing applies, free for first time students.

YIN/YANG YOGA WORKSHOP
WITH NICOLE NICHOLS & SAM SATHER
SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 1:30-4:00PM

In this exciting practice you will work to align the open and closed spaces in your mind and body. Nicole Nichols and SAM Sather have teamed up to offer a special 2.5 hour class that will offer a delicious balance of yang and yin yoga. The practice is carefully choreographed to stack yin and yang poses in particular orders related to specific Meridians (energy channels of the body), to promote strengthening around these pathways (yang) and enhance the natural range of motion and flow of prana to joints (yin), fostering balance in mind and body.

Yin/Yang work is great for athletes, those just starting a yoga practice, and those seeking deep release. The benefit of strengthening and unblocking energy channels supports healthy internal organs, boosts the immune system and promotes emotional well-being. Dynamic vinyasa flow with an enticing sequence of deeply nourishing yin poses, concluded by a sensational savasana.

Move into stillness and rest deeply in your own grace.
