HOW YOGA WORKS:
AJNA & SAHASRARA CHAKRAS
This month, our journey through the chakras reaches its final destination, at the top of our energy column.
Ajna Chakra, located in the deep geometric center of the head where the pineal gland hangs down, is associated with the element light, and the act of seeing. The sixth chakra relates to the mystical Third Eye and is the organ of inner perception, intuition, psychic abilities, imagination, and dreams.
Sahasrara, at the crown, is the final door to consciousness, symbolized by a thousand petaled lotus flower. The crown chakra is the last milestone of human awareness, and here consciousness enters a new realm of perception which is beyond our limited scope of mind and concepts, and reaches the realm of the Absolute.
Join me on Saturday, March 14th for "From Darkness to Light: Ajna & Sahasrara Chakras," as we wrap up our journey through the chakras with theory, asana, pranayama and meditation. Participation in the previous workshops is not required--all are welcome!
All month long we have an incredible line-up of guest teachers, workshops, and special classes--dive in!
Next month, we'll begin a new series, "The Mystery of Prana," an exploration of the Vayus--the 5 winds that animate every aspect of our experience.

WISER WOMEN: THE PRACTICE OF BEING IN-BETWEEN
Do you feel like your body, relationships, career, sexuality, sleep patterns or capacity for joy are shape shifting? Change, a primary factor between the ages of 40 - 80, is exactly when we need to practice. It is also when confusion and fear can drag us into unhelpful patterns such as over-eating, over-shopping, or even over-exercising. Anything to avoid being present with ourselves.
During this workshop, Cyndi will offer a dharma talk and a juicy 45 minute asana practice, contemplative meditation, journaling and small group discussions (we know we love to talk!) to help you personally rebrand this liminal time as a fresh start moment!
Let practice inspire you to live in a genuine, loving and fun way, with total appreciation for your maturing sensuality, elegance, fierceness and wisdom. (PS By 60 it gets good again!) Open to women of all ages!
$60, or $108 for both workshops with Cyndi Lee
CANDLELIGHT YOGA & GONG BATH
WITH ALISHA & NICOLE
SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH 5:00-6:30PM
For this special edition of our 5:00pm Sunday evening class, Nicole Nichols is offering a class featuring chanting, meditation, vinyasa flow, and culminating in a 20-minute extended savasana with a gong bath played live by Alisha Nissenfeld.
Of all the instruments used in sound healing, the Gong is perhaps the most powerful, and the most mysterious. Gong Meditations, also called Gong Baths, are deeply nourishing and restorative. Through the intense vibrations of the sound, the body and mind are able to relax and surrender to the healing energies of the Gong. The Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body, allowing students to experience deep healing on all levels of being as vibrations pass over and through them--leaving them feeling balanced, peaceful, and light.
During this healing and rejuvenating experience, students will relax comfortably with bolsters and blankets. No water is used in a gong bath; just enjoy the experience of vibrations washing over you!
Regular 75/90 minute class pricing applies, free for first time students.
HOW YOGA WORKS
FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT:
AJNA & SAHASRARA CHAKRAS
SATURDAY, MARCH 14TH 1:30-4:00PM
Our journey reaches its final destination at the top of the energy channel--the third eye and crown chakras, associated with our spiritual side and our relationship with our true self and the universe.
Ajna Chakra, located in the deep geometric center of the head, is associated with the element light, and the act of seeing. The third eye is the internal witness to imagination, inner vision, clairvoyance, intuition, dreams and psychic abilities. Here we enter a deeply internal state where we are seeing inside ourselves, inside our own mind. Seeing is a process of pattern recognition--to re-cognize, to know again, to begin to see the larger picture and where we fit in, and also to perceive the
one-ness of being.
Sahasrara, at the crown, is the final door to consciousness, symbolized by a thousand petaled lotus flower. Here the element is the element of thought. Consciousness is beyond space and time, and is the guidance behind all that we see and do. Some say that this chakra is opened up to Heaven on the crown of the head, while other diagrams depict it as a downward facing lotus, whose thousand petals contain the nectar of consciousness which drops into the mind and body through the chakras, bringing illumination and enlightenment to our awareness.
Join Nicole Nichols for the final installment of the Chakra series as we wrap up our journey with theory, asana, pranayama and meditation.
Participation in the previous workshops is not required--all are welcome!
