YOGA & GONG BATH
WITH  NICOLE NICHOLS & ALISHA NISSENFELD
WEDNESDAY, MAY 13TH 6:15-7:45PM

Join Nicole Nichols and Alisha Nissenfeld for a class featuring chanting, meditation, vinyasa flow, and culminating in a 20-minute extended savasana with a gong bath---aaaaahhhhhh.

Of all the instruments used in sound healing, the Gong is perhaps the most powerful, and the most mysterious. Gong Meditations, also called Gong Baths, are deeply nourishing and restorative. Through the intense vibrations of the sound, the body and mind are able to relax and surrender to the healing energies of the Gong. The Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body, allowing students to experience deep healing on all levels of being as vibrations pass over and through them--leaving them feeling balanced, peaceful, and light.

During this healing and rejuvenating experience, students will relax comfortably with bolsters and blankets. No water is used in a gong bath; just enjoy the experience of vibrations washing over you!

Regular 75/90 minute class pricing applies, free for first time students.

"Tapas svadhyaya isvarapranidhanani kriyayogah"

 Patanjali Yoga Sutra 2.1

Yoga is revealed to us as a state of union through discipline to the practice (tapas), sincere study of the self (svadhyaya) and ultimate surrender and release to a higher power (isvarapranidanha).

The intention of this in-depth 3-hour practice is to offer the context and space for just that - disciplined effort, honest and compassionate study of self and a glimpse of surrender in a supported environment. Join Jennifer as she returns to Republic of Yoga for this special weekend workshop and allow your practice to go beyond asana. A full afternoon of asana, pranayama, mantra and deep rest awaits!

While you do not need to have an advanced asana practice, this full spectrum practice is not for beginners. 1 year minimum of regular yoga practice is required.

INTRODUCING: SAM SATHER

SAM Sather, MS, BSN, e-RYT Sandra "S.A.M." Sather is an experienced registered yoga teacher (eRYT) with certifications in Therapeutic Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and YIN Yoga. SAM's classes are mind/body alignment focused and centering. Her approach is cultivated from the energy shared from her students and the universe, and her life experience as a nurse, teacher and parent. Her classes are mindful of the energetic pathways in our bodies, and she choreographs sessions to focus physically and mindfully on the health of the meridians through a series of postures and meditation. She uses her love of educating and facilitation in her classes to combine an experience for the mind and body in each session.

SAM teaches Yin & Meditation on Thursdays at 7:30pm

Yin Yoga tests our patience and ability to not require an active state, challenging us to be 'in the moment' without multi-tasking, all while benefiting our joints. Yin involves poses performed on the floor holding each pose for several minutes while relaxing the associated muscles. Yin yoga enhances the natural range of motion of the joints and facilitates meditation practices. Yin Yoga is performed on your mat using props if needed, to support safe alignment especially during challenging opening poses.
75 minutes.

LOOK GOOD, DO GOOD, BE GOOD!

MALA EVENT WITH BELLA VERDICCHIO

SAT & SUN, MAY 2 - 3, 10:30 - 1:00PM

My name is Isabella, I am thirteen, have found a passion for yoga, and want to share it with the world. Yoga can be beneficial in so many ways whether in breath work, meditation, or even the physical practice. I am a runner, and completed my first half-marathon in December 2014. As an athlete and rising 9th grader, I have found the physical practice of yoga to be useful, and meditation to be an amazing stress reliever. Another thing I find helpful is using a mala for meditation. Each individual mala is made With Heart. I am making and selling these malas and plan to use the profits to fund my tuition for the 2016 yoga teacher training at ROY, and do further karma yoga projects. My latest karma project was helping to raise money to purchase all the water for the Girls on the Run 5k race in April 2015.
