Wichita State University seniors LaRissa Lawrie and Hannah Hund won third place in the Innovate Against Zika Challenge, held this month at Texas A&M.  More than 80 students from five universities were involved in the challenge, which sought to find low-cost and easy solutions to stop the spread of  the mosquito-borne virus .

Two Wichita State University professors are conducting research on an invasive plant species to assist Kansas ranchers in their practices. The research focuses on the invasive weed sericea lespedeza throughout southeast Kansas and assessing its potential effects on natural plant life and grazing, as well as its economic impact on ranchers.
VentureWell's E-team program provides funding, workshops and specialized coaching to STEM student innovators to help move their innovations into the marketplace. The application deadline to participate in the winter cohort is October 5.  Read more...  
 
 


The School of Nursing at Wichita State University recently acquired a new family of state-of-the-art mannequins that can realistically simulate a variety of symptoms and scenarios, including childbirth, seizures, blood pressure problems and bleeding.
