RECORD NUMBER OF NOMINATION PACKETS RECEIVED FOR 2017
The April 30 deadline saw a flurry of Nomination Packets making their way to the Hall of Fame office, with a record number received. An independent committee of well respected members of the off-road community will meet in June to select this year's inductees into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. The Class of 2017 will be announced in July, and formally inducted into the Hall of Fame in a gala ceremony at the South Point in Las Vegas on October 30. Tickets go on sale August 1.

ORMHOF PROJECT UPDATE: DUSTY TIMES ARCHIVES
These never before seen photos are from the 1973 Firecracker 250.

These are sample images from one of hundreds (maybe thousands?) of contact sheets waiting to be discovered in the 44 file drawers of material stored in ORMHOF Inductee Jean Calvin's Dusty Times Archives.

"ORMHOF's mission is to digitize and catalog the entire Dusty Times Collection,
and make it available online for all to enjoy." -- Chairman Mark McMillin

Here's where we stand so far:

- We have met with archivists from two universities, as well as from the State of Nevada, researching how best to tackle this enormous project.

- A computer coder is writing a program for ORMHOF to create a searchable database that best suits the needs of the material.

- The archives are being moved from a storage container to climate controlled storage to help slow the degradation  of the heat sensitive items, like photos and negatives, and allow for easier access.

Thank you for supporting the ORMHOF Dusty TImes Project

ORMHOF INDUCTEE CHRIS COLLARD JOURNEYS
8,000 MILES ON THE ICE ROAD CHALLENGE

ORMHOF Inductee Chris Collard wears many hats, one of which is as editor-in-chief of Overland Journal.  On a recent adventure, Chris trekked 8,000 miles from Northern California, through British Colombia, Yukon and the Northern Territory, as part of an event called the Ice Road Challenge. The Ice Road follows the Mackenzie River from Inuvik to
Tuktoyaktuk (Tuk) in Canada's Northwest Territories. The journey featured many scenic wonders, in addition to temperatures of -32 degrees!
