Georgia WIC

What is WIC?

WIC is a program offered by the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) which is available to: Children under 5 Pregnant or breastfeeding women Postpartum non-breastfeeding women Those who have an income less than WIC guidelines (families already participating in Medicaid, TANF, or SNAP are income-eligible for WIC).

What does WIC Provide?

Vouchers to buy healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, eggs, milk, cereal, whole wheat bread, peanut butter, and much more from WIC-authorized vendors (see WIC approved food lists below) Nutrition education to help families eat well and live healthy Breastfeeding promotion, support and education Referrals to health care providers and other community services

Click here for a list of WIC clinics and vendors in Georgia or call 1-800-228-9173 to locate your local office . You can also refer families to the DPH online intake form  for a preliminary assessment. Only local Georgia WIC agency staff can determine if a family qualifies for WIC services.
