Responding to a Call: The 2018 Partners in Ministry Leadership Academy
“You are not in your current position at a Mercy school by chance or by coincidence. I believe every one of you has responded to a call, whether you knew it or not.”

With these words, Sister Regina Ward, associate director of mission integration for MESA, introduced the powerful theme of vocation to the 50 administrators and educators attending the 2018 Partners in Ministry Leadership Academy, July 23-24, in Baltimore, Maryland. This theme echoed throughout the two-day event as participants engaged in panels, presentations, reflection and dialogue around Mercy education’s past, present and future.

Survey: How Is Your School
Addressing Climate Change?
At the Leadership Academy last week, several administrators and educators mentioned environmental initiatives taking place at their schools: greenhouses, gardens, refillable water stations, recycling programs and more. If your school is engaging in an environmentally friendly practice, please complete this survey, created by the Institute Justice Team. They are preparing a statement for the Global Climate Action Summit about the way Mercy ministries are committed to addressing climate change and caring for Earth.
New Mercy Leader Orientation Program
The New Mercy Leader Orientation Program is a two-year program offered online for new administrators and board chairs throughout the Mercy Education System of the Americas. The program consists of 10 sessions over a two-year cycle.

This year's topics include: governance, ethical decision-making, servant leadership, human resources practices and crisis management. Each topic will be offered twice via web-conferencing. The orientation program begins in September, with additional sessions in November, December, February and April.

Please contact Kim Baxter, associate director for programs and services, if you would like to view a recording of any of the sessions.
