President Trump's decision to end DACA is another demonstration of the governments lack of valor and interest for protecting immigrants

DACA opened opportunity to work, study and walk with dignity to 800,000 youth and young adults in our society, a great majority of them Hispanic. This decision, marks yet again, our President's lack of compassion and respect as he did not even show his face to give the news personally. The DREAMers are people, not numbers, not papers; and each one represents a family, a dream and a person of great worth.

The news have produced sadness, lamentation and other emotions that we must channel into positive and focused action to continue on until we have reached the goal of a pathway to citizenship for the DREAMers and immigrant families. Let us not lose hope that we will see the glory of God manifested in their lives and more. We have not lost the war and God will show his powerful hand and favor over his people.

This decision is part of a strategic plan to instill panic and chaos in the midst of the DREAMer and immigrant population to later point out that they are violent, criminals and more. There is a greater fight for the rights of all, for justice, but let us not lose the war because we have reacted in anger produced by a lost battle. We do not have the luxury of loosing our heads!

This is not the time to remain quiet, to give up; but rather it is time to move into action and that our voice may be heard as a fervent cry out for justice for the DREAMers by demanding congress word bi-laterally to approve just legislation that protects this group and provides a path to citizenship.

We know that God calls us to welcome the foreigner and to be hospitable always, loving our neighbor as we love ourselves. Let us live this as the example to follow, even when so much around us does not.

Today we must ask ourselves honestly, "what should I do and how will I participate in changing history for a time such as this?" The fight for human rights has existed for centuries and those that rose up in their moment made a difference.

Today, we are that difference!
