Vern Smith  - Project Manager  (SRG Athens)

Welcome to the September 2016 issue of Restored.  My name is Vern Smith and I have the honor of serving as a Project Manager for Team Athens (Go Dawgs!!).  I'm thrilled to be "Opening Up" this particular issue as this month marks my 1-year anniversary with SRG
I am blessed to have been born and raised in the mountains of Western Maryland, one of the most naturally beautiful places on the planet.  I am doubly blessed to have been raised a Pittsburgh Steeler and West Virginia Mountaineer fan.  Luckily, the fine folks in Athens don't hold it against me and have allowed me to assimilate into the "Dawg Life".  I arrived in Georgia in September of 2004 after spending 15 years living and working in Chicago, IL.   My beautiful wife of 10 years is a native of Baton Rouge, LA. Now, I know what you're thinking, and the answer is yes.  She is an incredible cook, among a bevy of other amazing talents. She doesn't like when I brag on her, but for a guy like me that loves food, I highly recommend marrying a Cajun Girl.  Jennifer and I make our home in Monroe, GA.

Since joining SRG, I don't think a day has gone by that I haven't been in awe of the culture of this company and its people.  Now I've been around a little, I've worked in accounting capacities as well as purchasing, sales, and general management of similar-sized outfits.  I worked mostly in Chemical and Plastics Manufacturing.  In the same breath, I am the son and grandson of a carpenter.  I've been building and remodeling since I was old enough to hold a board and fetch nails.  So, I can tell you with absolute certainty that having the opportunity to be a member of an organization like SRG is quite rare.  Management is visible and behind you 110%.  There is a clear plan for the future.  Our mission and vision are thoughtful and concise.  The joyful sense of urgency abounds with all team members.
I love coming to work every day!
Trent Anderson, Director of Operations, was at our facility a few months ago and I was relating a story of a difficult customer and he could tell they had me a little "stressed".  "Don't let them steal your joy Vernon!" he exclaimed.   It took me a minute, but what a powerful statement.

Testimonials from Homeowners

From our SRG Macon office
"This is my first experience with Southeast Restoration and I am quite frankly amazed with the service as well as the follow up I received from Marc Ellington. You were picked by my insurance company, USAA, and I am very thankful they picked you. I am very relieved to have such great service from your company. I would recommend Southeast for any project. Unfortunately, I am now in an assisted living home and will not need any more of your services. Southeast Restoration reminds me of a quote I once heard 'You can have the best product in the world but if you do not have great customer service, you will fail.' I think Southeast will continue to be around for a long time because you guys were great with your customer service. I can't image anyone having a bad experience with your company."

From our SRG Canton office
Jerrye and I are very grateful to your organization and the people with whom we were in contact.  It was not a pleasant beginning because of the damages to our house but upon Josh and his partner's arrival the peace just came over us.  We have spoken to several of our neighbors and friends about your company and have only praise for all of your employees and contractors.  Jerrye and I have already expressed our appreciation to your guys but please relay to them and also to the ladies in the office how much we sincerely appreciate all that they have done for us.
Best regards,
Mr. & Mrs. Q
