Awareness is the first step to thriving I am sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that October is breast cancer awareness month. We have been conditioned to look for pink ribbons & make our annual donations. And while we want to fund research & a cure I encourage you to rethink "pink" as a reminder to fuel your own body's ability to actually prevent breast cancer.
YES, I used the word prevent!
Detection is important but it doesn't take the place of prevention efforts
Genetics is not destiny, neither is age or environment
You have the power to take daily action against disease & win
Thrive with Five
That's me speaking to a room full of Thrivers at Full Circle Breast Cancer Recover PT. They all showed up early on a Saturday morning to find out how the simple act of staying hydrated—drinking more water & reducing alcohol can reduce their risk of recurrence.
Seasonal October Recipes Eat some pink with Rainbow Slaw PLUS Pumpkin Spice Blender Muffins The recipes were created with real ingredients & love by Holistic Chef Nancy Ferraris
After working on a breast cancer prevention program with Dr. Anita Sadaty we wanted to create something that would spread the word about the 5 actions steps we developed AND be a vehicle to raise funds for organizations promoting prevention / recurrence programs for women
As I was working on the program with Dr. Sadaty I was also working with Deanna Durso to create Thrive Wellness Bangles
2 worlds collided & we created 5 bangle bracelets, each engraved with an inspiring word tied to the corresponding wellness action step
The bangles are a beautiful & joyful reminder to keep you mindfully motivated to MOVE, NOURISH, PLAY, HYDRATE & REVIVE every day
