Nurture spirituality. Foster compassion. Engage in service.
April Theme: Freedom
Two Workshops!

OK, I apologize for the fact that these workshops are on back-to-back Saturdays, May 10 and May 17.

And I promise that never again (for at least the next three years!) will I ask you to give up two Saturday morning-and-early-afternoons in a row for important learning that will help you be a better person and give you skills to help make our world a better place.

But that's exactly what I am asking you for on May 10 and May 17.

These workshops are both important parts of our growth and development. We're a people committed to engage in service to transform ourselves and our world, and these workshops lay the groundwork for the skills that will transform us and empower us to transform the world.

Please let us know you're coming.
Register for the May 10: See (or email) Jane Dixon.

Compassionate Communication
Led by Rev. LoraKim Joyner, DVM

"It's not enough to want to be compassionate, to want to stand for justice. We have to learn how. We have to learn the skills to hear each other with compassion.

"Cognitive brain learns quickly. Limbic brain is slow and needs a lot of practice, and it's limbic brain that needs the training."
(from "Nonviolent Social Change" sermon, Jan 19)

This workshop begins the vital training in the art of Compassionate Communication.

A New Model for Intercultural Competency

Please join me at this important workshop.

Rev. Kelly Murphy Mason

What does 'Teaism' have to teach Unitarian Universalists today? Quite a bit more than we might suspect...

Kelly is Director of Programming at the Psychotherapy & Spirituality Institute and adjunct faculty at Columbia University Teachers College. She also serves as a regional representative to the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

CSA at CUC

CSA = Community Supported Agriculture. (It also stands for "Confederate States of America," but that sort of CSA has never been at CUC, and won't be . . . )

Roxbury Farm is a 350-acre farm in upstate NY that produces shares for subscribers. Starting Wed Jun 11, 3:30 to 6:30p -- and for the next 22 Wednesdays -- shares will be available for pick-up at CUC, in the fireplace area.

There are still a few farm shares available. A full share is $618 for 23 weekly bags of biodynamic veggies.
