A YEAR IN THE TRENCHES is based on Charles Edward Dilkes'
REMEMBERING WORLD WAR 1: AN ENGINEER'S DIARY OF THE WAR and other historical sources.  C.E. Dilkes' daughters Virginia and Lola saw the play, as did grandson James Dunning.  Sara Cureton, the Executive Director of the New Jersey Historical Commission saw the play, too!
The script was commissioned by The New Jersey Historical Commission and
The New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
On Sunday, October 8, Charles Edward Dilkes and his family will be seeing the show.  This date marks the 130 anniversary of the birth of Charles Edward Dilkes.
With the cast are Sara Cureton (in pink) and Virginia and Lola Dilkes, and James Dunning.

And where is playwright James Rana?
Why, he's in rehearsal for Broadway's THE BAND'S VISIT!

Ms. Chapell & SIORA do their own unique take on music from the U.S., Latin/South America, Europe and the Middle East--all shaken and stirred with all- American jazz. They also play some provocative and award-winning originals.  The band features vocalist/guitarist Phyllis Chapell , named one of the top 500 jazz vocalists of all time by Scott Yanow (Downbeat, Jazz Times, AllMusicGuide); Dave Posmontier (pianist, composer, arranger, teacher), who has performed and/or recorded with many artists, such as Christian McBride, James Moody, Chris Potter, Duane Eubanks, Grover Washington, Jr., David "Fathead" Newman, Johnny Hartman; bassist Chico Huff , who has played and/or recorded with James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jeff Golub, Solas, Dr. John, Jefferson Airplane (among many others); and Paul Jost, drummer/vocalist/composer/arranger/ harmonicist/guitarist-who is now signed to an international label and tours worldwide.

"Blending world music and contemporary jazz into a soundscape that needs no translation, SIORA takes you on a journey of the soul, touching down in Rio, Paris, Mazer-e-Sharif and points beyond." (Straight No Chaser, UK)
