Durr Earns 7th National Excellence in Construction Award

We are extremely proud of everyone who worked on the Founders Plaza at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Durr's project earned the prestigious national Excellence in Construction® Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in the Specialty Contractor, Sitework/Landscape/ Hardscape category.  Project Manager Danny LaGrange and Executive Director of Project Development Chris Black accepted our Eagle Award on March 21st during ABC’s 28th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in Long Beach, California. This past April, Durr was deeply saddened by the passing of retired CEO Stephen Stumpf. As we reflect on and celebrate his life, we continue to strive to live the values he instilled into all of us here at Durr. In this video, Steve is honored as the 2012 Laureate to the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. A great man with an even greater heart, Steve defines success as having “peace of mind.”

Project Highlights

Clara Street Parking Lot Durr has completed work on the Clara Street Parking Lot. Durr acted as the general contractor for this $200,000 project for Corporate Realty and Physicians Realty Trust. For this project, Durr installed TrueGrid pavers, a drainage retention-friendly alternative to concrete and asphalt.  read more

John McDonogh Durr is working on a $1.2M project for the New Orleans Recovery School District and CORE Construction. Durr’s work on the full renovation of John McDonogh High School includes sitework and the removal and replacement of the existing utilities.  read more

Julia Street Apartments Durr is working on 730 Julia Street, a $350,000 project located in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, for Woodward Design+ Build. For this project, Durr is installing two underground storm drainage systems which will update the lot to meet the drainage requirements put in place by the New Orleans’ Water Plan. read more

Building a Strong Foundation
