New motoring research resource

Our 'Gem of the Month' is a new online portal which lets you search and access over 80 research resources relating to older and disabled consumers. If you're a researcher, an OT, a futurologist or a motoring enthusiast, you can submit useful links. Find out more below.

What about wheelchair users and sports? 
Results of our recent survey of over 500 wheelchair users carried out for WheelPower have now been published in a report 'Talk about Taking Part'. The WheelPower report highlights current participation trends, motivations and barriers to being active, the sports and activities wheelchair users currently take part in, and what people would like to do more of in the future. #ImWithSam hate crime campaign
73% of people with learning disabilities and autism have experienced hate crime. #ImWithSam, a campaign run by the charity Dimensions, wants to see resources and support for schools, families and support workers, stronger laws for online disability hate crime and wider representation of people with learning disabilities and autism. Premier League football clubs access pledge
Last year, the Premier League, the governing body for the top 20 football club sides in England and Wales, delivered a pledge that all its members would meet standards based on The Accessible Stadia Guide (ASG) by August 2017. A government consultation in England and Wales 'Transforming our justice system' on the plan for a digital future also wants to ensure support for people who may need it. The consultation closes on Thursday 10 November - read more below. 
Access and off-street car parks - survey
 
Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK), working with the British Parking Association, wants to hear the views of disabled motorists about access and off-street car parks. The feedback will help DMUK improve the car parking facilities nationwide. The survey closes on 15th November. Find out more below.
