Richard Boron 1945 - 2016 

BORON, Richard Louis "Dick"
, 70, died unexpectedly Friday, December 9, 2016.   He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Manuel and Sophia Boron.  

Dick was a 1969 graduate of Miami University, where he was a record setting defensive back for the Miami Redskins.   He received his Master's degree in Education from the University of Akron.   He started his teaching and coaching career at Wadsworth Ohio, then returned to coach at his alma mater, Miami.   After retiring from Houghton International, he returned to teaching as a substitute teacher for Oldham County Schools where he enjoyed working with children.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judy (Petronek) Boron;  daughters Becca (Jeff) Appel and Beth Boron;  grandsons, Justin and Jason Appel;  siblings, David Boron and Donna Ragni.   He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.   We will all remember Dick as a loving husband, caring father, devoted grandfather and a great friend to all.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday December 16th, 2016, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243. Funeral mass will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17th, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of his nephew Michael Soos.
