Alpenglow School
At Alpenglow School this month.
Right from the Start met students and teachers, and began delivering messages and activities about the universals of positive mental health.
Kat has been working with grade 3/4, 5/6's "Crossing the Lava," is a team building exercise that encourages students to work as a group, to try various strategies to succeed, and to find their inner leaders. Students also learned about triggers, and practicing strategies that move us from reactive to responsive, including Toolbox skills and making squooshies to help them with self regulation.
Mary has been working with K,1,2 on topics such bucketfilling, the wellness wheel and the listening tool as part of the Toolbox. We have also explored themes around kind and unkind words and actions and keeping the problem small to support self regulation inside and outside of classroom!
Alpenglow School Assembly
- will be on November 23 from 11:30-12:00 in the CCHS theatre - Parents Welcome.
Take 5 - for parents and their children.
This is an opportunity for you to come and meet Right from the Start and spend an extra 5 minutes with your child at school before their morning walk. We will have coffee and tea as well as a few healthy treats to share.
