Once On This Island is a fresh project from RCHS Productions, directed by Christopher Hanks, with musical direction by Linda Cristman. The show, based on Rosa Guy's novel "My Love, My Love", will highlight nearly two dozen actors singing and dancing to fun tropical beats and haunting melodies.  Breathing live performance back into the newly renovated Bryte Cafe Theatre, located at the Bryte College and Career Training campus, the show will be utilizing a brand new LED theatrical lighting system that is sure to impress. Multiple pathways from Washington Unified School District's Career Technical Education, or CTE, programs are working in tandem to make the piece come to life. The show's set has been designed and assembled by the Residential and Commercial Construction classes, nightly concessions will be prepared and served by Culinary Arts students, and the behind the scenes magic will be brought to you by the young professionals of the Performing Arts pathway.

An additional Patron Reception, a celebration for all supporters of the arts, is planned on Saturday, May 6 from 4:45-6:45 at the Bryte Cafe Theatre. The island inspired reception held between the matinee and evening shows will highlight a meal of tropical flavors, foster interaction with the stars of the show, and tempt with a silent auction. The Patron Reception is by invitation for RCHS Productions donors. However, patrons who have not yet become donors are welcomed to purchase Patron Reception passes for $10 each.
