We couldn't include all of our friends due to time constraints.  Yet, we don't forget them.  For 2015, they include a mix of small and big business, high school students, non-profits, government agencies and individuals.  We will come together for the 26th year to clean up our Cuyahoga River Valley and its tributaries.  Join us.

RiverSweep 2015 is nearly here.

For more than 25 years we have recruited volunteers from across the community to clean our shared backyard. We've extracted and recycled over 23 thousand illegally dumped tires and picked up for disposal nearly 500 tons of rubbish.

New or expanded parks, trails and greenways have been created from RiverSweep sites including:

RiverSweep will go from 9am to Noon on Saturday, May 9th. The first 700 volunteers receive a free t-shirt. Please sign up on our website, canalwaypartners.com/riversweep

The first segment of the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Trail is scheduled to open this summer, it will connect the 101-Towpath Trail at Scranton Flats to Rivergate Park. Rivergate Park is home to Merwin's Wharf, the Western Reserve Rowing Association and the Crooked River Skate Park.

When complete, the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Trail will traverse a transformed 1.3-mile abandoned railroad right-of-way through the West Bank of the Flats, terminating at Wendy Park on Whiskey Island.

This year, the National Park Service will commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Funeral with programs in each of the major cities that held a funeral for Lincoln from Washington, DC to Springfield, Illinois.

The Cleveland program will be held in Old Stone's Sanctuary on Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm. The program consists of an introduction by a National Park Service ranger, followed by a one-hour presentation of Lincoln by Fritz Klein, an accomplished Lincoln actor. The presentation will focus on Lincoln's vision for America as he expressed it during his life - his vision of moving the nation from civil war to civil rights. The program is free and open to the public.
