Dear Parents,
We have a number of Innovation Space Open Lab dates (for Riverside students with a parent), 3:15-4:15pm in April-June, available now, with some Monday and Wednesday sessions added. You can sign up
here.
You are invited! We will hold our annual Earth Day event in front of the school (in the gym if it rains) from 2:05-2:35pm on Friday, April 21. By Monday after vacation, we will share some ways you can help the Earth in preparation for our Earth Day celebration. We will follow the event with students getting to read with buddy classes. Students can bring a favorite book and a beach towel.
Save the Date -- Wednesday, May 31 we will hold a Family Math Night here at the school with lots of fun and engaging math activities for the whole family to enjoy. We are asking families with a last name starting with A-L to attend from 6-7pm and for families with a last name starting with M-Z to attend from 7-8pm. We hope you can join us. More information to follow.
Have a wonderful vacation week and holiday. Wishing you a special time with your family!

DITAROD AT RIVERSIDE
The Iditarod Race of 2017 is over, but our second graders couldn't get enough of it! This week, they had a chance to meet with Alaskan Iditarod Musher, Ken Anderson, of Windy Creek Kennels in rural Alaska through a cyber visit. Mr. Anderson shared his passion for mushing through photos, video, and a question and answer session. The students enjoyed this special experience and were excited to meet and talk to a real musher who they had followed throughout the Iditarod. This program was made possible by your generous donations to the PTA.
