 From the Office
Dear Parents,

I would like to wish all the families and children a wonderful summer vacation (starting after our early release day this Tuesday). The children have worked hard, made good friends, grown in their character, in their academic abilities, and in their understanding of the world. We are so very proud of their accomplishments.

For our 5th grade and non-returning students, we wish you the very best. Please come back and visit whenever you can! For everyone else returning, we will look forward to another year of learning as we start the year with our Riverside Parade of Learners on Thursday, August 31st! Your child's class list and information about the new school year will be sent to parents around August 18th

This Tuesday is an early release day ending at 1:15 pm. Lunches will be served. Our parade of 5th graders will be heading over to the recognition ceremony at EMS for an 11am start time. Tickets for 5th grade families were sent home previously. If you have any questions about the tickets, please let the office know.

Last week I shared about some staffing changes and the proposed grade level sections from the district. I would like to offer my thanks to Miss Valerie Caro who is ending her time as our Long Term Substitute for our FLES classes. We will be welcoming back Mrs. Siguenza in the fall to that position. I would like to thanks Mrs. Christine Kovak for her work as a part time ESOL teacher at school. She will be spending more time at another school next year and we would like to welcome Ms.  Justine  Murnane who will be here M-Th in the mornings. I also want to thank our part time art teacher Mr.  Micheal Manning (here Wed. afternoons) and welcome Mrs. LeAnne Hinkle (who mostly will work at Julian Curtis School) as our part time art teacher. I want to thank Miss Alison Chapman, our part time P.E. teacher, who will be working at EMS next year. I also want to thank our intern, Miss Michelle Eydelman for her good work this year and to thank our permanent building substitutes Miss Ashley Tuccinardi and Ms. Anne Donohue for their good work.

I would also like to wish all the dads a very special Father's Day this Sunday!

Sincerely,
Christopher Weiss
Riverside School Principal

STUDENT COUNCIL DIAPER DRIVE
Student Council is running a diaper drive to help stock the shelves of the diaper bank at Mothers for Others. From now until June 19th, we are asking all Riverside families to help out by dropping off packs of new diapers and wipes. Please bring donations to the front hallway, where there are specially marked bins. Thank you for helping Mothers for Others!
DENTAL REMINDER
If you received a DENTAL REFERRAL FORM for your child, please remember to submit the completed form to the dental hygienist at the school's health office. Remember that healthy teeth equals happy children!
NOTE FROM THE NURSE
All medications in the Health Office must be picked up by a parent no later than June 20th at noon.  Any meds left after that time will be discarded.  When you pick up your child's meds, the Nurse will give you new med forms to complete over the summer.  The Nurse will be available on August 28th to accept the new medications and forms.
