PLANT SALE: MONDAY, JUNE 11
The "milk carton green houses" that students planted seeds in over a month ago have produced so many seedlings! We have so much bounty that we need to have another plant sale! Please stop by at school pick up on Monday, June 11
to purchase seedlings ($3-5 each/cash only please!) that you can plant at home in your own garden (or large pots). Also, we will have some bags of wood chips that are free for the taking if you want to use them as mulch in your pots or gardens!
|
OUR GROWING GARDEN
The Garden Committee has been very busy. Please stop by and see our beautiful garden. A special thank you to Jack at Sunrise Tree Care for donating all the wood chips you see on the garden floor.

2018 SUMMER BOOK READ: PETER PAN
For the first time, Riverside Elementary School has chosen a classic story for students to all read independently or with their parents across all grades as a suggested shared summer reading experience. This will culminate in back to school activities in the Fall of 2018.
This summer's selection is "Peter Pan," originally by J.M. Barrie.
This classic tale of a free-spirited and adventurous young boy who can fly and never grows up will certainly captivate the minds of our students this summer!

RIVERSIDE GLOBAL CARDBOARD CHALLENGE
Riverside School is holding its Global Cardboard Challenge on Monday and Tuesday, June 11-12.
The Global Cardboard Challenge is inspired by the story of Caine's Arcade.
Students will work in groups to design and build arcade-style games and other projects out of cardboard and recycled materials.
Parents are invited to their child's classroom to see the completed projects.
Parent viewing times are:
Grade K-2 classes - 2:00-2:30pm
Grade 3-5 classes - 2:30-3:00pm
Teachers are reaching out to parents for help in the classrooms and to send in materials, so please look for these communications. Also, this year, student groups will determine which child takes the completed project home. Parents are asked to take their student's projects with them to their car (K-2 classes) and return for dismissal at 3:10/3:15. Please DO NOT take your child out of school early at this time. Grade 3-5 parents, please take your child's project with you after cleanup at dismissal.
Class parents will be reaching out for volunteers to help with classroom cleanup after parent viewing times. Thanks in advance for all your help!
