Dear Riverside Parents,
Welcome back to school! We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you and your kids are adjusting smoothly back into the first few days of school. It was great to meet and welcome new and Kindergarten families on Wednesday and we enjoyed seeing many of you at the Parade of Learners and PTA Volunteer Fair on Thursday. We appreciate everyone's volunteer support as it enables our PTA organization to partner with the school and teachers more effectively to enrich the education experiences for our kids!
In case you missed it, we've put together a
Back to School Checklist of key actions to help you hit the ground running. We hope everyone considers joining the PTA as we count on these funds to support the arts and science enrichment programs we offer our students. Thanks to all who have already contributed!
We've had some questions about updating Family Contact Information with the School/PTA. If you have any necessary changes in primary email/ contact information, there are several places to check/update this given the different communication vehicles used for PTA and school:
1) Please contact the school's front office to update your contact information with the school/ district,
2) Please email [email protected] for updated contacts for PTA's Peek at the Week, Constant Contacts and other email communications,
3) Update your information specifically for the directory online at
RIVPTA.ORG and
4) Send a note to your Class Parents for changes to your class communications.
For those who are new to Riverside, we send this weekly "Peek at the Week" newsletter out every Friday with important School and PTA news, dates and information. Please watch out for it each week to stay up to date!
We look forward to partnering with all of you and our teachers to make the 2018/19 school year a huge success!

DON'T FORGET...
TO UPDATE YOUR DIRECTORY INFORMATION AND JOIN THE PTA!
Please go online and update your family information for this year, including your child's new teacher and any other changes. While you're there, we encourage all parents to become PTA members. Not only does it support all the amazing programs our PTA brings into the school, it also gives you unlimited access to the online and app directory. Visit the website for more information. And if you have moved or have new phone or email information, please let the school office know as well!
And thank you to everyone who has contributed a donation to join the PTA so far - this is an important fundraiser to help us get up and running for the year.

ANNUAL FALL FUNDRAISER - SAVE THE DATE!

IMPORTANT SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
Morning Drop-Off:
- For drivers using the front driveway - please pull as far forward as possible and follow instructions from the volunteers on duty.
- Please stay in your car in the front driveway, do not back up, no lingering or texting, and no parking.
- Children should exit on the curb side (no left lane exit please).
- If you need to get out of the car or your child needs extra help with something, please find a legal parking spot in the parking lot or along the roads near the school.
Afternoon Pick-Up:
- Front Driveway pick up is for grades 3-5 only.
- Parents of children in grades K-2 are required to park elsewhere and meet their child at their dismissal door.
- For those using the front driveway, please stay in the car and no left lane pickup please.
- For those parents who are parking - it's essential that you find a legal spot in either the parking lot or the roads around the school to park.
- This is for the safety of the children and the street rules of the neighborhood.
- Please allow extra time to find a spot and walk if needed.
