RIVERTON RESIDENT WINS LOGO DESIGN CONTEST
Trevor Garner, a local resident, won Riverton City's logo design contest following a multi-stage review process held over the last month and a half.

His design, shown at the top of this email, features an outline of Riverton’s Old Dome Meeting Hall, accompanied by the text “Riverton Utah.”

The contest drew more than 50 design submissions from the public and more than 400 votes from residents in a public preference poll.
RIVERTON NAMED TREE CITY USA FOR 13TH TIME; MAYOR MAKES ARBOR DAY PROCLAMATION
Riverton City was recently named as a Tree City USA for its 13th time by the Arbor Day Foundation. The city again achieved this designation for its commitment to effective urban forestry management. Having planted 230 trees during the last year, the city now has an estimated 5,000 trees in parks and public property alone.
RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO CONSERVE WATER
Riverton residents are encouraged to adopt a conservation mindset with water use. Given the below-average snowpack levels in Utah this year, adopting conservation practices are important. Consider these tips:
  • Lawn Watering – though secondary water has been turned on, there is no need to water your lawn yet. We’ve had sufficient moisture for lawns this spring. Save the water for summer when you’ll really need it!
  • Dish Washing – don’t keep the water running when you wash your dishes. Plug the wash and rinse basin so you use less water. Run your dishwasher only when it’s full.
  • Laundry – use the load selector. Match the water level to the load size, or only run with full loads.
  • Sinks – plug the drain and only use as much water as you need to wash and shave. Don’t let the water run when you brush your teeth. Repair leaky faucets.
  • Tub and Shower – plug the drain before you run water for a bath. Take shallow baths and keep baths short.
