Proverbs 26:27 (KJV)
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
SMILE!
Every time I read and/or remember this Passage of Scripture, I picture in my mind a cartoon character from my ANCIENT past!
I believe the culprit was the elusive Wile E. Coyote-remember him?
The picture I envision is where Mr. Coyote would attempt to "ROLLETH A STONE" off of a tall hill in the pathway of his adversary. Mr. Road Runner!!!!
And, just as the Bible states above, Mr. Runner was NEVER flattened by the rolling stone as the stone ALWAYS missed him, ran up the opposing hill and then flattened Mr. Coyote!!!!
How true this is in life!!!
AS I sat in my recliner last night, watching the political circus unfold, SUDDENLY I heard words my dear mama used to say repeatably:
"
HE THAT LAUGHS LAST, LAUGHS BEST!!!!"
AND another of her favorites was:
"
THE BEST LAID PLANS OF MICE AND MEN OFTEN GO ASTRAY!!!"
The wise King Solomon also wrote:
Proverbs 24:17-18 (KJV)
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
May I add these Words of wisdom to the mix:
Proverbs 16:18 (KJV)
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
How bout'-
1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
How many times must we allow Lucy to move the football before we learn that God in in control?????
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
God says through his servant James:
James 4:6 (KJV)
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Too often, WE allow ourselves to be surrounded by YES people!!
Proverbs 27:6 (KJV)
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
WE must "guard our hearts" and NOT fall into satan's trap of self gratification as the Emperor did in Hans Christian Anderson's short tale:
"The Emperor's New Clothes" (Danish: Kejserens nye Klæder) is a short tale by Hans Christian Andersen about two weavers who promise an emperor a new suit of clothes that they say is invisible to those who are unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent. When the Emperor parades before his subjects in his new clothes, no one dares to say that they don't see any suit of clothes on him for fear that they will be seen as "unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent". Finally, a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!"
Can you say:

TAKE A LOOK AT OURSELVES AND WE WILL LOOK AT OTHERS DIFFERENTLY!!!!"

One last bit of wisdom dear ole Mama passed on to me:

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NEVER THROW STONES AT ANOTHER!!!!!!"
TODAY, "EXAMINE YOURSELVES" BEFORE you pick up that stone of offense at another!!!!!!!!!!

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
