A Message from the CEO

We opened our Financial Planning and Education Center in 2002 in support of one of our core objectives, which is to provide you with as much financial education and as many financial options as we can.

The FPEC has expanded over the years, but the objective remains the same.  Every product and service that we offer through the FPEC creates an opportunity for you to gain knowledge, choices, and power as a financial consumer.

Our wholly owned mortgage services subsidiary, First Chicago, will assist you with any mortgage need you may have.

Liberty Mutual offers home, auto, and life insurance with savings opportunities that are exclusive to credit union members.

If you are struggling to repair your credit or you need some assistance in managing your debt, Gwen's Helping Hands is on site and will assist you, free of charge, courtesy of your credit union.

MAF, our financial planning partner, offers a huge variety of savings, investment, insurance, and retirement options that are tailored to the needs of police officers and their families.  Their guidance and expertise have been especially valuable to many of our members as they sort through the changes taking place regarding their health care and the impact those changes will have on their retirement planning.

Additionally, every one of these partners offer seminars throughout the year that are designed to provide you with the information you need and the answers you seek in a small group, obligation-free environment.

If you have not done so already, please consider joining the thousands of your fellow members who have gained valuable knowledge and financial power simply by starting a conversation with one of the resources available through the Financial Planning and Education Center. Also, be sure to check out our Financial Planning and Education Center  Facebook page, which features valuable tips and information about upcoming events.

As always, thank you for your continued loyalty and support!

Scott Arney
CEO

Skip-A-Pay is Back!
Extra Jingle in your Pocket, Extra Cheer for the Holiday!

The holiday season is almost here and CPFCU is tracking down some extra cash for our members!

We know that holiday expenses can add up, and Skip-A-Pay is the perfect way to have some extra cash right when you need to!

How does it work? Simply apply online at www.cpdfcu.com between October 3 and November 23, 2016.

If your application is approved, you will have the opportunity to skip your December loan payments. There is a $30 fee per loan to skip a loan payment, and at least half of that amount will be donated to  Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. Enjoy more cash on hand for the holidays and support the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation through CPFCU's Skip-A-Pay program.

Please note that you will need to apply for each loan individually. The following loans are not eligible for Skip-A-Pay:  Home Equity, Homeowner Loans, Mortgages, Visa, Overdraft Protection, 10-1, Student, Tuition, CARPay Diem, Credit Builder and Member Business Loans. Any loan with an original term of 12 months or less is ineligible. If an approved loan is refinanced before the payment is skipped, the new loan will not be eligible for the promotion.

Only the December 2016 loan payment may be skipped. The finance charge on your loan will continue to accrue and the term of your loan will be extended by one month. Additional restrictions may apply.

Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

Have you Heard?
Our Auto Loan Program Is Better Than Ever!

CPFCU can't stop talking about our Auto Loan program only because we want to make sure you take advantage of our great rates while we still have them!

Did you know our  rates are as low as 1.49 APR*? Additional benefits of our Auto Loan program include:
  • We offer extended terms to help keep your payment within budget.
  • We offer financing options for those looking to borrow up to 100% of the vehicle's value, as well as options for those looking to put money down on their cars.
  • We offer Route 66 Auto Coverage, an extended warranty option often priced significantly lower than dealership plans.
  • We offer competitive GAP and Mechanical Breakdown Protection to make sure you don't lose money on your vehicle in the event of an accident or need for repairs.
  • We offer our Write Your Own Ticket "blank check" program to well-qualified borrowers, allowing them to negotiate like cash buyers.
And, if that's not enough, we recently introduced CARPay Diem, a lease-alternative program for new and used automobiles (see article below for more information on CARPay Diem).

So, whatever it is you're concerned about in financing your next vehicle, let us see how we can help!  If it ever makes more sense for you to secure financing with another lender, we'll tell you.

You can apply for an Auto Loan or CARPay Diem online by clicking  here, or calling 312.726.8814.

Click  here for current rates.

*Rates vary according to credit scores. Additional restrictions may apply.
Seize the Day with CARpay Diem!
It's like a lease, but better!

CPFCU has been hearing raves about our recently-introdcued CARpay Diem, a lease-alternative program for new and pre-owned cars.

Combining the best features of conventional financing with the benefits of leasing, our new low-payment loan program is almost too good to be true!

Like a lease, this signature program offers payments considerably lower than conventional financing on your new or pre-owned vehicle. Yet, unlike leasing, you own the vehicle, so you still receive all of the flexibility and benefits of ownership!

Benefits of CARpay Diem Loans*:

*    100% financing
*    No security deposit
*    No up-front first or last payment
*    Option to sell, trade, or refinance the vehicle at anytime
*    Option to return vehicle at loan maturity and simply "walk away"
*    No early payoff penalty
*    Mileage options of 12,000, 15,000 and 18,000 per year available

Featured Employee

Hello, my name is Tom O'Reilly and I am a Branch Representative for the credit union.

I started working at the North Branch this March.  I quite enjoy my daily duties as Branch Representative, which include processing basic transactions, solving account issues, and, overall, trying to be as helpful as I can to our members.  I recently started dispersing loans, which really gives me a chance to help others on an individual basis.

I am the second of six children: I have three brothers and two sisters.  I grew up on the North side of Chicago in East Rogers Park.  My son, Luke, just started his junior year of high school.

If I'm not playing a sport, on an adventure with my girlfriend, or watching the Cubbies, I am probably with my family.

My whole family tries to support the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation as much as possible.  Whether it's volunteering, running, golfing, or you name it, we try to be there.

Being part of the Gold Star Families has shown me a different side to the Chicago Police Department.  I was introduced to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, 100 Club of Chicago, and an endless number of officers offering help when my step-father was killed in the line of duty. My siblings and I will forever be indebted for their support and assistance.  When the opportunity to work for the credit union came up, I was excited.  I now have the chance to return the favor.

I enjoy working for CPFCU because of the environment.  Everyone is invested in each other's success.
