Rolling Wheels Raceway Park Speeds into 2012 with Action-Packed Schedule

World of Outlaws Sprint Cars invade May 16; FREE Fan Pit Pass with every ticket

ELBRIDGE, N.Y. - April 20, 2012 - Coming off a banner year in 2011 in which Super DIRT Week XL was named National Outstanding Annual Short Track Event of the Year by National Speedway Directory, DIRTcar Racing is excited to announce another action-packed schedule for 2012 at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.

World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and World of Outlaws Late Models, 800-horsepower Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds, Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, DIRTcar Sportsman and many more will attack the 5/8-mile clay oval known as The Fast Track, bringing fans one of the most exciting schedules in history.

"Rolling Wheels is one of the premier sporting facilities in Central New York, and we have a schedule that makes every event a must see," says Rolling Wheels General Manager Jeff Hachmann. "Rolling Wheels has built a tradition of running special events, and in 2012 we have put together six major dates that includes not one, but two stops for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. What makes this year even more special is everyone who buys a ticket to any event will receive a FREE Fan Pit Pass. You don't get to talk with Derek Jeter in the dugout prior to an at-bat, but you can surely talk with 7-time Super DIRTcar Series Champion Brett Hearn before he takes the green flag."

It all starts Wednesday, May 16, with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series SPEEDfest. This special midweek spring event will feature "King of the Outlaws" Steve Kinser, Tony Stewart Racing's Donny Schatz, the legendary Sammy Swindell and Kasey Kahne Racing's Joey Saldana among all of the Outlaws as they make their first stop at 'The Fast Track' as part of their East Coast "Six Pack" swing. DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and a special Pro Stock/Street Stock Challenge will round out the card.

The traditional DIRTcar All-Star Weekend returns Sunday, May 27, with the annual DIRT Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Weedsport kicking off the activities. Then the action moves down the road to Rolling Wheels where the first of two Super DIRTcar Series events for Big-Block Modifieds highlights the evening. DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and DIRTcar Stock Cars, along with the popular Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club, make a great Memorial Day Weekend event.

On Tuesday, July 3, comes the Sprint Car Summer Shootout featuring the popular Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints. Also joining in the fun will be the Canandaigua based 305 sprints and DIRTcar Stock Cars. To celebrate the nation's birthday there will also be a huge fireworks display that will light up the sky on this special midweek event.

Making a return on Labor Day weekend to Rolling Wheels is the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block tour. The Stars and Stripes 100 will also see the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds run their series event as well which will bring cars from all over the Northeast and Canada. The Labor Sunday tradition is renewed with a special two-division show.

The track will then come back to life with two action-packed events during Super Dirt Week in October. For the second year in a row, the World of Outlaws Late Models and DIRTcar 358-Modified Series will make up the Thursday night card on Oct. 4. Defending World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion Rick Eckert and Watertown, N.Y., native 'T-Mac' Tim McCreadie lead a star-studded field into one of the most anticipated events of the week.

Then two nights later on Saturday, Oct. 6, the final event of the season showcases "The Greatest Show on Dirt" as World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return for an encore performance in what has become a can't-miss event with championship implications every year. The annual DIRTcar Big-Block Modified "Win-and-You're In" 25-lap feature that locks in the final competitor to the SEF Small Engine Fuel 200 at Syracuse is also part of the event, which has been an exciting addition to the week-long festival of speed.

Six nights featuring some of the world's top dirt track stars in some of the fastest dirt track cars is what's on tap for 2012 at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.
