Our Chairman's Message -
Just a reminder that the strength of our Club depends on member participation, and t he Keystone Region does more events per year than most of the other Regions.

The event dates below are set for you to plan your schedules.  It is important to support our members who volunteer to organize these outstanding events. A lot of work goes into planning and organizing these festivities.  If you are a new member, please come out and join us and meet other members.  We not only are passionate about our PMC's but look forward to making new friends!

Finally, information for all of the events will be communicated to you over the coming weeks.  Looking forward to seeing you at the next event.

KRROC EVENTS - FUTURE & PAST
                                          IN MEMORIAM

Thomas C. Lewis
1927-2018

The Keystone Region lost its founder and former Chairman Tom Lewis on January 4, 2018. In January of 1964 Tom along with Mac McMullen decided to form a local region. They funded it themselves and had the first meeting at Tom's farm in Newtown, Bucks County where Rod Heckman was appointed as activity chairman and the Keystone Region was started.   The name Keystone Region  was their invention and the name was later copied by the AAC.

Tom owned many Rolls-Royces during his 52-year membership in the RROC, from a 1913 Silver Ghost Shooting Brake 2232E, and a Phantom II Brewster Keswick 279 AJS, to his most recent car an original 1959 Silver Cloud I Hooper saloon LCLC5.
Tom graduated from the University of Virginia class of 1952 and served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. In his professional life he was a stockbroker for over 50 years, and served as a Director of his family business, Barton Mines Corporation.

When not collecting cars or serving as co- chairman of the New Hope Auto Show in its early years he enjoyed sailing his boat "Lean Wolf" on the Chesapeake with family and friends, and even drove the Yellow Rolls-Royce in the 1964 movie!

He is survived by his wife Nancy and 5 children. The Keystone Region extends its condolences to his family.

                     New & Noteworthy

We've seen some  pretty wild remote-control cars out there, but this one might be the most interesting of all.

It's a tribute to 1930s Grand Prix car fitted with a real, working V16 engine. Watching it run is as cool as you'd expect.

The car is a 1:3 scale model 1936 Auto Union Type C, which also used a V16 engine. But instead of displacing 6.0 liters like in the real car, this miniature version makes due with just 216 cc. That doesn't stop it from sounding fantastic.

Video: Rolls-Royce Cullinan Shows Us How It Was Tested in Scotland

Not long ago Rolls-Royce announced that their first ever SUV, the  Cullinan , will be undergoing a so-called 'Final Challenge' ahead of its world premiere, in collaboration with National Geographic. The aim is to provide logistic support for one of their top photographers, Cory Richards while also testing the car's off-road prowess in all sorts of environments. Things kicked off in Scotland on April 4 and we already have a couple of shots of the car doing some interesting tests.     CLICK HERE to see more

Step inside this modified Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead

This is what happens when your ten-year-old Rolls interior needs a refresh   Age. It happens to us all. An indefatigable adversary hell-bent on ruining - at least in this instance - the interior of your prized Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.
Design studio Vilner received this particular Rolls because the owner needed to refresh the inside. Ten years had aged the wood, while the white leather seats were constantly "treated by the tones of those dark comfy jeans".
So, said owner took the opportunity to jazz things up a bit. Vilner used several square metres of durable white leather to reupholster the seats, with the central sections perforated with a double R pattern, helping ventilation too.
The dash was treated to a special anti-UV (it's a drop-top, after all) leather wrap too, the colour and texture applied helping reduce reflections on the windscreen. There are also custom floor mats and RR embroidery on the headrests.

Rich people buy electric cars because they feel lucky

Many  Bentley customers believe they have obtained their wealth because of luck.
So says Bentley Motors' new chairman and chief executive officer, Adrian Hallmark, during an interview in Geneva.

"I have recognised that a lot of our customers follow a similar thing: They are super-successful. And a lot of them think it's because they're lucky," he says. "That's really important, because they don't think they're above human weakness and frailty."

The Best Non-Car Stuff To Buy From Bentley, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce
Fashion and accessories made by car makers are not as cheesy as they used to be.

You've seen Friends, right?   Did you see the episode in which Joey dons a Porsche jacket and fanny pack, holds a Porsche keychain, and stands on the street near a pile of cardboard boxes shaped like a Porsche 911 underneath a cold-weather cover? The charming-but light-in-the-wallet-Joey uses the tableau to pick up women
The kicker to the scene is that, as Joey tells his friends, "only an idiot would wear this stuff if he didn't own the car." Ha, ha.

2019 Bentley Bentayga V8 First Drive Bentley built a better Bentayga by chopping off four cylinders. Seriously

The entry-level Bentayga Bentley promised us three years ago has arrived. You didn't expect steel wheels and hubcaps, did you? The new variant gets eight cylinders instead of 12 and a handful of minor visual tweaks. For our 2019 Bentley Bentayga V8 first drive review, we traveled to the Austrian Alps to find out how it compares to the mighty W12 model.    CLICK HERE to see more
