As we depart from the high holidays and feel the temperatures dropping and a new season approaching, it couldn't be a better time to explore new and exciting ways to find your place at Romemu. 

Haven't been to services lately? Join us for a beautiful and musical Kabbalat Shabbat or Shabbat morning service. We're also proud to announce that in addition to our services at our home location in Manhattan every Friday night, and we are now offering monthly remote services in Brooklyn and Westchester

Ready to expand your mind and learn something new? Register for an enlightening fall class at The Well! We have many classes starting in October and November and registration is open

Looking for a welcoming and inclusive way to enter the community? Come to one of our upcoming multi-faith events, including the yearly Sacred Sounds concert - a beautiful collaboration between Romemu and a number of congregations of different faith traditions.

Romemu in Brooklyn

We are happy to invite you into Romemu Brooklyn, an emergent community that is open to all who are interested in exploring and creating elevated Jewish experiences for all.  The Romemu Brooklyn community is currently are gathering on a monthly basis for Kabbalat Shabbat services and potluck dinners in North Park Slope, as well as offering a 5-part B Mitzvah workshop series.

Livestreamed Romemu Services in Westchester 

All are welcome to join us at The Aligned Center in Irvington, NY as we come together for monthly Kabbalat Shabbat services, livestreamed from Romemu in Manhattan. Following services, attendees will gather to schmooze, discuss, and nosh.

Join us for a multi-faith evening of food and conversation on the topic of "Sanctuary" with our Sacred Sounds (11/18) partners and our rabbis as speakers.

Strangers No More Discussion on Spiritual Belonging

Are you a part of an interfaith couple? Did you grow up in a tradition other than Judaism? Do you identify as Jewish but still feel like "a stranger" in Jewish settings? Join the Strangers No More community as we explore the topic of "spiritual belonging" in a safe, non-judgemental setting.

Sacred Sounds: A Multi-Faith Evening of Song, Wisdom, and Prayer

What is possible when, together, we open our ears, voices, and hearts to sing a new song? 

In collaboration with Rivers of Living Waters, the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Sufi Community, West End Presbyterian Church, the Pamsula Zen Center, and guest Sufi musician Amir Vahab, Sacred Sounds will bring diverse communities of faith together for a musical evening.

When Breath Becomes Air: A Conversation with Dr. Lucy Kalanithi

When Breath Becomes Air , a New York Times best-selling memoir, is an intimate and stirring look at how Dr. Paul Kalanithi dealt with his stage IV lung cancer diagnosis. His widow, Dr. Lucy Kalanithi, MD, FACP, will share her husband's story and the journey her life has taken since its publication. Romemu Men's Circle

The Romemu Men's Circle is having its first meeting of the New Year on Wednesday, October 25 th  at 7 PM in the Chapel at WEP.  This circle is open to all Romemu members who identify as male. Seeking Volunteer Shomerim

Shomerim  are guardians of our sacred space. They prepare the sanctuary for services, recycle leftover newsletters, close the doors following services/ programs, and generally ensure all goes well in the sanctuary before, during, and after services. If you are interested in becoming part of the  Shomerim , contact [email protected]

Seeking New Members of Romemu's Chevra Kaddisha

Chevra kaddisha, meaning "holy society," performs the mitzvah of  shmira  for our members and their loved ones who have died.  Chevra kaddisha  volunteers  sit with/near the deceased, often reading psalms or meditating until the time of burial. Interested individuals or those seeking more information about this sacred work should email Rabbi Eva Sax Bolder at  [email protected]

The Chesed Committee

The Chesed Committee serves and supports members' well-being through acts of loving-kindness. A Warm Welcome!

Please join us in welcoming Romemu's newest staff member, Chantelle Attarian, who joins us in the position of Event Planner. 


Chantelle joins Romemu with years of experience in Event and Community Coordination and Management. In her previous role, she created, developed and led the Events department as part of the Marketing team.  She holds a Bachelors degree from Boston University and is pursuing a Masters degree from CUNY School of Professional Studies. Chantelle also volunteers with the New York Junior League as part of the Girls' Leadership Institute and the Playground Improvement Project committees.  She's grateful for the opportunity to combine her event planning and community building skills and experience with her passion for Romemu's vision.
