Library Closed: September 1 - 3 (Labor Day Weekend)
Library Open During Construction!
Phase 2 of the parking lot construction has begun. Parking is available on the north end of the parking lot and a walkway has been constructed for foot traffic to the Library. Please bear with us as we get through this six-week phase of the construction process. The end result will be a beautiful new lot with landscaping and new, brighter LED lighting. Maps of the construction project are available in the Library. The project is expected to be completed this Fall.
The Library has upgr aded to a ne w online catalog and checkout system called CARL. Please note that CARL requires patron PIN numbers to be numeric and 4-6 numbers in length. If you need help with your account or with updating your PIN, please click here and follow the instructions under Updating Your Patron Account. For further assistance with account access, please call the library at (734) 942-7589. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we transitioned to our new system.
MeLCat Tentatively Scheduled to Return Sept. 2018
Thank you to our patrons for your patience during this hiatus from MeLCat. Due to the move to our new system in late May and several glitches and subsequent issues that our consortium, The Library Network had to handle, the return of MeLCat services was delayed until September. Testing and data extractions over the summer are nearly complete and The Library Network has stated that they are on schedule for a return of MeLCat on or around September 5 th . Thank you again for your patience!
Library Computer Security and Increased Bandwidth
The library is taking a proactive approach when it comes to computer security. We have contracted for additional firewall support, security, and intrusion prevention to detect and prevent attacks in network traffic on all of our public and staff computers. In addition, internet bandwidth has been increased to 100 Mb which provides faster connectivity for patrons surfing the web.
New Bottle-Filler Drinking Fountain
To better serve our patrons and help the environment, a new drinking fountain has been installed in the Library. It includes a bottle filler that helps minimize disposable water bottle waste in the environment and tracks the number of plastic bottles saved. As always, water bottles are allowed in the Library as long as they have a lid.
Summer Reading Program a HUGE Success!
This summer was amazing! We had so much fun at each and every program and with all of you. This year, registration increased by over 31%, program completion increased by 164%, and program attendance increased by 56%. Thank you for participating and proving that libraries (and reading) do rock!

Congratulations to the winners of our Amazon Kindle Fire Tablets, Kijani, 8 and Posy, 3 and to the winner of the Zap Zone birthday party, Asher, 5.
