Saving Animals in the South
DRHS making a difference

The DRHS is rescuing animals from southern overcrowded shelters.   As a part of the PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin, the DRHS received 69 puppies and dogs just in the month of January!

"In southern states where the temperature is very warm, there is an even higher population of homeless dogs, and those dogs don't have much of a chance.  When they can't get adopted in a shelter, they are often euthanized," said Maria Benham, president and CEO of the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.

The DRHS is set to take in and care for over 500 animals from the rescue program and on average cares for over 2500 animals on an annual basis.  If you would like to help care for the animals at the DRHS , please click the link below to donate. Thank you for your support!

DRHS | BY THE NUMBERS

Provide an Enriched Environment

Pets need mental stimulation which may mean daily walks for your dog, scratching posts, window perches and toys for your cat. It means play time with you, which not only keeps your pet's muscles toned and boredom at bay, it also strengthens your bond with your four-footed companions.  Stimulation enhances long-term health and welfare of your canine and feline friends.
