Dear (Contact First Name),

A Saint is often an ordinary person who has lived an extraordinary life of virtue and faith. As Catholics we should use these exemplars to inspire us in our daily lives.

St. William of York (d. 1154)

He was born into a noble family. His father was Herbert of Winchester, Chancellor and Treasurer of King Henry I and his mother also had royal family ties. He became a priest and due to his family's influence, he was appointed Treasurer of York and Archdeacon of the East Riding of Yorkshire. He served under Archbishop Thurstan and was involved in Thurstan's political dispute with the King. King Henry I wanted all the Archbishops to be subservient to the Archbishop of Canterbury. Archbishop Thurstan and others wanted to maintain their independence. He followed Thurstan into exile and even went with him to Rome to help reconcile the problem. A papal ruling held in favor of independence. When he was later nominated as Archbishop of York, the Archbishop of Canterbury would not consecrate him and he was deposed. He was elected Archbishop in 1142 but his election was again disputed as rivals accused him of simony and political influence. The Pope found him innocent and he was consecrated. Not holding any resentment towards his antagonists, he finally entered York as its Archbishop and began his duties showing kindness to all, even his enemies. He died shortly after and many miracles took place at his tomb. He was canonized by Pope Honorius III in 1227.

This week pray a Rosary in his honor, his feast day is June 8 th.

Rosary Making Tips

If you are interested in starting or advancing your rosary business please
  1. We recently recorded two new Instructional videos:  How to make a Cord Rosary and How to make a Chain Rosary.  You can view both of these as well as a How to pray the Rosary video on our site at the following link - Instructional Videos

  2. Teaching school children to make rosaries - You are welcome to purchase the St. Theresa Cord Rosary Kit for use in teaching your children how to make rosaries.  We have hundreds of schools who use this kit for that purpose.  It is not required that they be donated to the missions.  Usually when schools use this kit, each student keeps the rosary he or she makes and any extras are donated.    For a donation list you can view the following page. Many customers send rosaries to The Family Rosary in MA as that is easier for shipping.  They send them all around the world to needy missionaries.

Prayer chain request:

If you have someone for whom we can pray,
please post your prayer request here. You can also read all prayer requests at this link if you would like to remember these people in your prayers.

Rosary Donation requests:

You can view missions that have requested donations here. If you know of a mission in need of rosaries, please let us know via email and we will post it here for thousands to read. Also many Catholic nursing homes are in need of rosaries.

Mission rosaries are badly needed.  Please read below if you can help.

If you are interested in making rosaries for the missions or for the troops, please visit our Cord Rosary Page for details and also additional information on where to ship these rosary donations.  For those who prefer making rosaries with metal parts, please visit our Mission Rosary Kit page.  Twine for Knotted Cord Rosaries is also available.
