MOS GENERATOR: US/Canadian Headlining Tour Of The Shadowlands Underway -
Seattle based heavy rock power trio MOS GENERATOR will be making their way across the United States and Canada later this month in support of their latest album, Shadowlands. Set to commence September 21st in Port Angeles, Washington and run through nearly two-dozen venues upon its conclusion October 13th in Portland, Oregon, the Tour Of The Shadowlands 2018 includes stops at Descendants Of Crom Fest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as well as Doomed & Stoned Fest in Indianapolis, Indiana. The latest trek follows the band's month-long US trek earlier this year which included sixteen dates supporting Fu Manchu as well as an appearance at the 2018 edition of Hellfest in Clisson, France. The death dealers in San Jose's MORTUOUS and Oakland's SCOLEX recently united to release a split seven-inch of barbaric heaviness. Set to drop via the newly-launched Carbonized Records, spearheaded by MORTUOUS drummer Chad Gailey (Necrot), the limited two-song offering will see official release on October 31st and be available in two color variants - 250 gold and 250 black. SCOLEX's mutinous ode was recorded by Salvador Raya and Greg Wilkinson (Vastum, Noothgrush, Autopsy) at Earhammer Studios in 2012 and 2017 and mixed by Wilkinson in October 2017. MORTUOUS' ripper was also recorded and mixed by Wilkinson at Earhammer in March 2018. The release was mastered by Dan Randall (Ghoul, Fucked Up) at Mammoth Sound Mastering in May 2018 and comes swathed in the grisly art of Sebastian Mazuera.

After concluding a decade-long partnership with Translation Loss Records in 2013, ROSETTA embraced their newfound independence with The Anaesthete, a self-funded, pay-as-you-wish album that emphasizes the dark and dismal side of ROSETTA. The record proved a great success and remained a top-selling release on Bandcamp for nearly a month. Ohio-Based progressive/psychedelic heavy rock collective AKULA -- featuring within its ranks members of Lo-Pan -- will release its self-titled debut September 28th via Hellmistress Records.Comprised of four immersive tracks weighted as much in tone as emotional resonance, AKULA runs an atmospheric gamut led by the undulating and spacious riffing of guitarist Chris Thompson and Sergei Parfenov and the soulful melodies of vocalist Jeff Martin. TRAPPIST is Chris Dodge (Spazz, ex-Infest, ex-Despise You, etc.), Phil Vera (Crom, Despise You, ex- -16-), Ryan Harkins (co-owner of Grill 'Em All). The beer is named Ancient Brewing Tactics - in obvious homage to the debut TRAPPIST album - and is a collaboration between the band and Wayfinder based on the archaic brewing style of trappist monks.
