Marlyn Argueta interviews Ari Daniels, Water Resources Engineer at the Center.
How did you get started working on watersheds?
My two primary change-oriented passions are climate change and water resources, and my school was able to adequately prepare me for the latter.
What is your favorite part about working for the Center?
Ever since joining the Center, I have been continually and consistently impressed with the quality and character of the people with whom I work. Everyone at the Center, current and former during my brief tenure, has been a pleasure and privilege to work with.
Now for the silly questions. At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?
Probably Cabela’s or a similar outdoor store. Though I’d greatly prefer not to max out my cards – #Adulting
What was your favorite TV show when growing up?
Night Court. I miss the heart of the 80’s TV shows. MacGyver was up there, too.
If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
Super speed, like the Flash. I think that would pretty well cover most of the rest of the things I would qualify as skills or superpowers, and enable almost any new “normal” skill to be instantly obtained. I’d also finally clear some of my reading list.
What’s the strangest talent you have?
Myself out of debt. :-)
What do you want to make sure you do before you die?
Live.
For more specificity, I want to speak Russian, German, Spanish, and ideally Hebrew and Arabic fluently; travel the world; finally see completely sustainable energy production and consumption; get surprised and be amazed when the world’s water supply is ample and clean, and the health of our waters is strong and resilient; and get a score of 200 or better bowling.
