Sterile Compounding, USP <800>, and Pending California Board of Pharmacy Hazardous Drug Regulations

The California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) has been working on updated sterile compounding regulations for several years.  CPhA, through its Academy of Compounding Pharmacists and allied compounding partner organizations has been heavily involved in advocating for compounding pharmacists throughout this regulatory process.

Recently there have been a number of questions regarding the status of the sterile compounding regulations and specifically, USP <800> requirements. We are providing this information for further clarification.

If you have any questions, please contact Megan Maddox at [email protected] or 916-779-4546.
