Iowa Partnership For Success Funds- Community Assessment
The IPFS (Iowa Partnership For Success) Grant is currently working on the Community Assessment phase of the project. This requires the completion of two key documents, the Community Assessment Workbook (CAW) and the Tri-Ethnic Readiness Survey.

The Community Assessment workbook requires the collection of a variety of data from a variety of sources, some of this is qualitative and some quantitative. Coalition members are working to collect the required data to complete this document and identify the local conditions in the community related to underage drinking and underage binge drinking. The coalition will be holding focus groups for community members to provide additional information about the concerns that they have about underage drinking in the community.

These focus groups will be held at various times for a variety of community members. All events are being held at the Van Buren County Hospital's Community Service Center. Below is a listing of each group and the day/time of the meeting:
Tuesday, June 2nd  3:30pm
Wednesday, June 3rd 8am
Wednesday, June 3rd 6:30pm

Young Adult

Wednesday, June 3rd 10:00am

Wednesday, June 3rd 1:00pm
Wednesday, June 3rd 4:00pm
Thursday, June 4th 10:00am

Invitations for these events have gone out to community members. If you are interested in participating in one of these groups please contact the coalition office at 319-293-6412 or

The Tri-Ethnic Community Readiness Survey requires the coalition to complete 12 interviews with members of the community to gauge their readiness to address the issue of underage drinking. Staff are looking for volunteers to conduct these interviews as IDPH would like for them to not be completed by the project coordinator. If you are interested in assisting with these interviews please contact the coalition office.
