Sign Installation and Maintenance

Roadway signs are the means by which a local agency communicates the rules, warnings, guidance and other safety information that drivers need to navigate their roads and streets. This workshop will include examples of proper sign installation practices and roadway safety materials, break away sign posts, tamper and vandal proof hardware, and inspection methods of retro-reflectivity properties. The class will include a field example.

Who Should Attend
This program is designed for any local personnel who are responsible for the placement and maintenance of traffic signs.

Participants will receive 4 credit hours towards their CT Safety Champion designation.

Please make sure to bring a safety vest to the training for the field exercises. 
Course Instructor
Anthony A. Lorenzetti, P.E. is the Safety Circuit Rider at the University of Connecticut Technology Transfer Center. He has over 30 years of professional engineering experience including both public and private sector employment. He served as the Public Works Director/Town Engineer for the Town of Plymouth, Connecticut for over 20 years.
