#2 Are Good Roads Worth Paying More in Taxes?
This morning the Pima County Board of Supervisors accepted a recommendation from a citizens stakeholder committee related to an increase in sales tax dedicated for road repair. SAHBA has long advocated for fixing the roads. We appreciate the work of the committee and encourage the Board to address this important issue but we do have some concerns about increased taxation, management of the funds and ongoing maintenance. #3 Working on a Secure Water Future
As development activity in Arizona increases, the conversation about our water resources is becoming extremely relevant. SAHBA has been actively engaged in the discussions, including at the legislature, about ensuring enough water to accommodate growth in the Tucson and Southern Arizona region. Our water future is directly linked to our economic and social wellbeing. Kudos to U of A’s Water Resource Research Center for a great forum last week on “The Business of Water”.
